Why the World is Broken.
Inspired by T Bone Burnett speech.
Scientists attempt to collect accurate data. That is it.
They collect data about a subset of knowledge. If they do their job correctly, they create a snapshot of a tiny area of knowledge in a fraction of time.
Scientists do not have brains to see the bigger picture, and if they do, they have limited the data available to themselves, so they can only understand the region surrounding their small subset of knowledge.
Scientists are not to be the ones to interpret their data.
That is the duty of the philosopher/Artist.
An artist is someone that is born with an innate ability to see patterns.
An artist will look at the data the scientist has collected, and see the patterns they were chosen to see. The artist must now tell the world, but they often fall victim to their own fragility.
If the world was right, the musician would choose; the words they sing, the instrument they play, the style they play them in, and the hardware science has developed to listen to their music through.
Sadly, we live in a world where, even after the miracle of an artist finding their unique sets of data in which they find their specific patterns amongst, or their voice, they are now beholden to businessmen and marketers for all those choices.
Businessmen and marketers are not artists!
They’re the ones who tell you to not get excited, at the same time as telling you how much they understand you.
They say they have been through what you have, and love your true voice.
“Now hurry up, so we can get it to the princes, who even now, are all along the watchtower waiting for the change you may bring.”

For Noah.
“There’s too much confusion, I can’t get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth.”
“There are many here among us who feel that life is but a joke.
But you and I, we’ve been through that, and this is not our fate,
So let us not talk falsely now, the hour is getting late.”
While all the women came and went, barefoot servants, too.
Two riders were approaching, the wind began to howl.
P.S. Artists would have to study, and understand science, to be able to see any patterns!
